You are not correct in believing that people will be angry at you for saying the NAACP has been out of step for a long time. They have not been relevant in terms of civil rights, police brutality, sexism or many other issues. In Pittsburgh, we can't depend on our NAACP for anything other fundraisers. They rarely help with anything. Yet, there are times when they get it right, like with the gay rights issue, which the NAACP agreed is a civil rights issue.

I agree with you on this; especially that they are on the right side of the fence with the gay rights issue. I just think that they really need to transform themselves in order to realign themselves with the needs of the community today.

Also, if they are going to expand their agenda to address all types of civil rights issues, then they need to stop giving the impression that they are specifically facilitating the advancement of "colored" people.
